It is very much worth noting that the Sacred Sources that Rabbi Soleveichik cites at the bottom of his article (above) are the same Sacred Sources as are cited at this website.
Now to answer our question directly:-
2) And in view of the Former Chief Rabbi of Israel's opinion (see above) regarding the Lubavitcher Rebbe (who looks and seems pretty Jewish and kosher to myself)
3) In view of Rabbi Soleveichik's opinion which he felt necessary to publish due to the emotional storm that was afoot...therefore...
4) We can safely assume that all three parties mentioned above:- The Rebbe, The Former Chief Rabbi of Israel and Rabbi Soleveichik are all properly and Legally Jewish....and 100% kosher...awesomely well educated and gifted Jewish Torah Sages......and the last thing any of them would do would be to "Christianize" Judaism or give approval to another Shabbatai Tzvi situation.
I don't know about you...but for me.....that's about as kosher as it gets! The towering Torah giants of this generation have spoken. All else is irrelevent and refuted beyond any doubt.
Rabbi Moshe Yess
Of all the pages on this website...this one will most likely be the most emotionally charged and politicized by various Jewish religious groups and those with an agenda to push.
For starters let us look at what the former Chief Rabbi of Israel had to say about Rabbi Schneerson:-
----------------------------
Rabbi Mordechi Eliyahu, the past Chief Rabbi of Israel after his visit to the Rebbe said. "I saw that no secret is hidden from him, and I mean that simply and explicitly. He knows all of the Talmud, Poskim (legal precedents) and in the Mystical works his understanding is VERY VERY deep. He is the master of light. He is a master of all the Torah. And is an expert on everything that is happening in Israel. His face shines like an angel of G-d and he himself is higher than any angel. He is the greatest Torah master in our generation and no one is even close to him. And together with this he worries for every Jew in the world."
-----------------------------
In no uncertain terms did Rabbi Schneerson thoroughly convey that he is Judaism's Final Redeemer, King Messiah.
Then to the world it plainly appeared that he had "passed away." There was a funeral, Kaddish was said, and I have personally been to Rabbi Schneerson's gravesite three times. I mention this last point lest you imagine I suffer from any form of death denial syndrome.
However, in Judaism we do not go by what our eyes lead us to believe in matters like these. We, rather, go by what our Torah and Torah Sages state(s).
While upon first glance the very idea of a resurrected Messiah seems entirely "Christian" to most Jews there is a very strong need to ponder the following facts.
1) The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Schneerson, handed out a most profound Chassidic discourse (entitled Zeh Yiteinu in 1988) which details and explains why Judaism's King Messiah must "die"....what he does while "dead'.... and why his perceived "passing" is a necessary part of the process of his ultimate revelation.
2) The Talmud teaches that King Messiah can come naturally or supernaturally. Prior to the Rebbe's "passing" it was hoped for and believed that it would occur naturally while he lived. If you have read carefully this website's articles you should have a solid grasp by now that as of 1991 Judaism was in possession of an amazing realization: Moshiach (King Messiah) IS! And it was indeed Rabbi Schneerson.
3) There was an awesome storm (category 10 hurricane actually) within Orthodox Judaism around 1994-96 when Chabad Chassidim continued to express their certainty that "death" would not derail what the Rebbe said regarding himself. Some rather ambitious folks decided to use this as a means to discredit Chabad-Lubavitch. In response to this outright display of slander, the late Rabbi Aaron Soleveichik (non Chassidic and world renowned Legalist) found it necessary to publish an admonition to such unholy activity. Here is his article printed in the Jewish Press:-
